About Me

Lucy 

Hi, I am Lucy, as a busy mum of 4 boys myself, I understand that in todays busy lives it is sometimes hard to find time for yourself, especially when it comes to making time to exercise.

However, I am here to motivate you to get you moving, to get fit, to lose some weight, to tone up or whatever your goal may be.

It does not matter what your current level of fitness is, as we will always go at a pace to suit you, with it all being done from the comfort of your own home.

The initial consultation is free, with no obligation, so just use it as a chance to get any questions you have answered.

Lucy is absolutely amazing and has probably changed my life. As a 50 something menopausal woman my body shape has changed totally and I was feeling really horrible about myself. To the point I would never go to a gym and work out in front of others. I had also never embarked on any kind of physical fitness plan or training. Lucy is so understanding and compassionate - and knowledgeable about women.s bodies and health and approaches my plan in a way I just don’t think a man could. I've been with Lucy a year now, it's the first time I've kept up my fitness longer than a month, an impressive feat in itself that I put down to Lucy's fantastic service.

Lucy keeps you motivated with varied and challenging sessions that are tailored to you. I have arthritis in both knees and through my sessions and Lucy's tailored programme I have managed to improve my strength and mobility, as well as my enjoyment in exercise.

I couldn't recommend Lucy enough, she's a fantastic trainer as well as an amazing, supportive person.

I do online live personal training over video calling programs such as Skype, Zoom, Facetime, Teams and WhatsApp etc. Whichever is best for you!

This is an easy and convienient way to have a virtual face to face personal training session that is tailored to you, from the comfort of your own home, office etc.

It really does not matter if you don't have any of your own gym equipment, as body weight exercises can be used to create a fun but challenging routine that is specific to you. Any equipment which you do already have can also be incorporated in to each session.

This is available in either 30 minute or 1 hour sessions.

Nutritional Advice

Lucy 

Whatever your personal health and fitness goals are, whether it be weight loss, toning or building muscle etc, if you are going to achieve them, then your nutrition will play a key part of this.

Therefore, as part of my training I offer as part of the service, nutritional advice tailored to your goals and what your personal calorie needs are.

As pare of the initial consultation you will be sent a food diary for you to complete for a week, with this acting as a starting point for me to be able to evaluate where we can start to improve your current eating habits.

I don't believe in fad diets and instead aim to give nutritional advice which helps you to achieve your goals, whilst still allowing you to enjoy your food and have a treat along the way.

Menopause
& Exercise

As a personal trainer, I have taken qualifications in order to specialise even further into how to train women through each stage of their lives, with a large part of this involving how to exercise through the peri-menopause and menopause.

During this phase of our lives, exercise can feel like the furthest thing from our minds but actually it should be at the forefront.

As our oestrogen levels are starting to drop and our bodies become more prone to distributing fat around our waistline and jawline amongst other areas, it is more important than ever to exercise and in particular include some resistance training in your programme.

This will have the benefits of helping to promote the growth of lean muscle mass, which results in a leaner body shape and an increase in metabolic rate.

Furthermore, due to the decline in oestrogen levels during the menopause, women become at an increased risk of developing osteoporosis. However, by embarking on an exercise programme and including resistance training in this, you can help to maintain bone density, thereby reducing the risk of osteoporosis.

Not only are there the physical benefits of exercising during this phase of our life, but also the mental benefits that come with exercise, with it helping to improve mood and along with this an increase in self-esteem, something which is essential when dealing with the effects of fluctuating horomes.

Note: Always check with your GP or Primary Healthcare provider before embarking on a new exercise programme.
